Chanchal 2006
Narinder Chanchal is the uncrowned
king of bhajans and bhents. Chanchal who has devoted his life to singing
to the glory of Maa Vaishno Devi has mesmerized devotees in North America
and across the globe with his inspirational, captivating bhajans.
In his early years, Narinder Chanchal
sang Kafias of Bulle Shah. He was discovered by movie maestro Raj Kapoor,
who gave him a break in the 70s mega hit "Bobby." With Beshak
Mandir Masjid Tod, Chanchal topped all music charts and created magic
with his voice and the power of his devotion. He was flooded with film
music offers, but Chanchal was crystal clear in the path that he was
to choose - a life committed to singing devotional songs and bhajans
for Maa Vaishno Devi, and helping people attain peace and happiness
through music.
The Background
Narinder Chanchal was born in a
Punjabi family in Amritsar. His mother was a firm believer of Goddess
Durgaa and used to often sing bhents. Inspired and influenced by his
mother, Chanchal took to music at a young age and frequently participated
in cultural programs in Amritsar. Chanchal's music guru was Sri Prem
Trikha.
Chanchal's father was initially
opposed to his son's music career. But Chanchal was so steadfast and
sure about his chosen path in life that nothing would deter him from
his singing. His big break came with Raj Kapoor's Bobby and then there
was no looking back….

Anup
Jalota Bhajans
Anup Jalota is popularly known as
"Bhajan Samrat." His melodious, mellifluous voice has soothed
and enchanted audiences for decades now. Catch the Rhythms, Inc. will
have a series of concerts in North America with this icon.
Famous for bhajans and ghazals,
Anup Jalota has been devoted to music all his life. His father is the
classical music exponent, Purshottam Das Jalota. He is also his guru.
Anup Jalota started his musical
career as a chorus singer in All India Radio. He hails from the Shamiana
Gharana of Phagwara, Punjab. A linguist, Anup sings and speaks in 6
different languages. A veteran performer, Anup connects wonderfully
with audiences and holds them spellbound.
Anup Jalota's Career Highlights:
* Recorded over 1200 songs, ghazals
& songs.
* Performed over 4000 live concerts spread over 100 cities on all five
continents.

Hemant
Chauhan ushers in 2007 with divine music and joyful
concerts!
Hemant
Chauhan, one of Gujarat’s finest and a nationally acclaimed singer
of bhajans and folk music has wrapped up his melodious “KATHIYA
WADI LOK DAYRA & BHAJAN SANDHYA” concert tour in North America.
With sold out shows in most cities and extended performances through
January 2007, Hemant Chauhan enchanted audiences and fans with his sweet
music. The concert tour began in December 2006, and was extended through
New Year’s due to the great demand for his shows.
Performing
in top cities and places – from San Jose to Tampa, from New Jersey
to Savannah, from Toronto to Montreal, Hemant Chauhan transported people
into a world filled with beautiful music. The auditoriums were packed
with ardent fans and music lovers. He was wonderfully accompanied by
his group of talented musicians and the inimitable comedian Gopal Barot.
Gopal had audiences in splits at each of the venues, regaling them with
his jokes and special brand of humor.
The
response to the concerts was terrific from the organizers and promoters
in cities. The event in Atlanta on Friday, December 1st was a full house
with ardent fans and music lovers. Organized by Amit Shah, President
of the Gujarati Samaj of Atlanta and the Samaj’s eminent committee
of Board Members and other key officials, the concert continued till
2 am in the morning. One of the attendees Ashok Thakkar raved “I
drove across town for this concert and it has been so worth it. Hemant
Chauhan’s performance is thrilling.” Mustafa Ajmeri, the
local coordinator for the show was delighted with the response.
Hemant
Chauhan held Chicago spellbound with his renditions on Saturday, December
2nd. Held at the Midwest Swaminarayan Temple in Itasca near Chicago,
Hemant Chauhan and his musicians, and Gopal Barot entertained the 700
plus audience. Organized by Paresh Patel, Kamlesh Patel and Himanshu
Desai, the concert was a sold out mega success. Paresh Patel enthused
“Hemant Chauhan and Gopal Barot created the perfect combination
of devotional music and entertainment.”
Hemant
Chauhan is a legend in India and has released many albums of devotional
music. He has a magnetic personality who enchants audiences with his
great voice and charm on stage. The 2006 concert tour was sponsored
by top companies – Simple 2 Call, TV Asia, Asian Foods, Sahara
TV, Indian Express and Eastern Air Courier. Hemant Chauhan will be returning
to the US and Canada for 2007 concert series around Navratri this year.
He will perform in large and small cities and towns across North America.
