Shekhar Suman is the undisputed king of comedy on Indian television. Witty, spontaneous, satirical Shekhar is brilliant on screen with his stand up comedy monologue, his funny interviews with celebrities.

With his chat shows like Movers and Shakers, and Carryy on Shekhar - Shekhar Suman has reinvented Indian television with his unique brand of comedy and wit. Always a master of television, Shekhar was par excellence in his performances - from Wah Janab on Doordarshan in the 1980s to Dekh Bhai Dekh in the 1990s.

He has come a long away from his time in the movies - one of his most talked movies was the much hyped film "Utsav" with Rekha. After a rough patch in the 1980s and early 1990s (personally and professionally), Shekhar has found success. A phenomenal mimic, Shekhar has audiences and viewers in splits with his imitation of politicians like A.B. Vajpayee, Sonia Gandhi and others.

A family man he is devoted to his wife of many years, Alka. A philanthropist as well, Shekhar has set up a heart hospital in his home town of Patna, Bihar in memory of his late son.
