Kumar Sanu became a music sensation with the 1990 hit Aashiqui. Inspired by the late Kishore Kumar, Kumar Sanu's voice has the depth, range, and versatility to enthrall and mesmerize audiences. From the soft melodies of Sajan to the lively beats of Baazigar; from the versatility of Yes Boss to the romantic, beautiful numbers of 1942, A Love Story, Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jaayenge and Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kumar Sanu has enchanted audiences with his divine voice.

The Background

Born Kedarnath Bhattacharjee, Kumar Sanu grew up in Calcutta. As a young boy he was exposed to music at an early age his father was the highly acclaimed classical vocalist, Pashupati Bhattacharjee. Recognizing his son's phenomenal talent for music, his father started training him at an early age. After graduating from Calcutta University, Kumar Sanu started performing in front of audiences in Calcutta. But fame and success did not come easily, until the ghazal legend, Jagjit Singh, gave him a break in Bollywood in 1987 with Aandhiyaan. Kumar Sanu was immediately noticed and signed on more films with famous music directors like Kalyanji-Anandji.

Kumar Sanu's first mega blockbuster movie was with the brilliant music of Aashiqui, composed by Nadeen Shravan. The rest is history.
