On 2 October 1997, Hans Raj Hans became the first Indian singer ever, to perform live to an audience at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, Pakistan. Hans Raj Hans is the first Punjabi singer who has been awarded Padam Shri Award by President of India in 2006.
